LeeAnna Keith

LeeAnna Keith teaches history at Collegiate School in New York City. She is the author of The Colfax Massacre: The Untold Story of Black Power, White Terror, and the Death of Reconstruction (Oxford University Press, 2009), which was released in a paperback edition in August 2009. Reviewing The Colfax Massacre, American Historical Review wrote, “Keith has taken an important and complicated subject and given it a thoroughly researched, concise, readable treatment.” An article on her research about the Colfax Massacre, entitled “Following the Trail of a Deep South Massacre,” appeared in The Readex Report(April 2010). Her articles have also appeared in The Dictionary of American History and The Encyclopedia of American Foreign Relations.
