Norman Desmarais is Acquisitions Librarian at Providence College where he holds the rank of professor. He is a member of the 2nd Rhode Island Regiment, the Brigade of the American Revolution and the Company of Military Historians. He is editor-in-chief of The Brigade Dispatch, the journal of the Brigade of the American Revolution and the author of Battlegrounds of Freedom: A Historical Guide to the Battlefields of the War of American Independence, The Guide to the American Revolutionary War in Canada and New England and The Guide to the American Revolutionary War in New York (publication date: late spring 2011).
