Sidonia Serafini is a doctoral student and instructor in the English Department at the University of Georgia. Her research centers on post-Reconstruction and early twentieth-century African American literature and the periodical press, and multiethnic women’s writing. Along with the edition of the life and writings of the Rev. Peter Thomas Stanford, forthcoming with UGA Press, she also has written “Black, White, and Native: The Multiracial Writing Community of Hampton Institute’s The Southern Workman,” forthcoming in The Southern Quarterly (Winter 2019). She has organized a gallery exhibit about Georgia’s convict lease system for the University of Georgia’s Hargrett Rare Book & Manuscript Library (July through December 2019).
