Barbara McCaskill

Barbara McCaskill is Professor of English at the University of Georgia, and Associate Academic Director, Willson Center for Humanities and Arts. Her books and published essays have focused on antebellum and postbellum slave narratives, nineteenth- and early twentieth-century African American literary productions, and the literature of the African American freedom struggle. Her most recent book is Love, Liberation, and Escaping Slavery: William and Ellen Craft in Cultural Memory (UGA Press, 2015). Forthcoming in June 2020 (UGA Press) is The Magnificent Reverend Peter Thomas Stanford, Transatlantic Reformer and Race Man, co-edited with Sidonia Serafini and with Rev. Paul Walker, pastor of Highgate Baptist Church (formerly Hope Chapel), Birmingham, UK.
